Who operates syntax

syntax is operated by Brennan William DeCrow, trading as manymoats ("we," "us"). Contact us at support@yoursyntax.app.

Accepting these terms

By downloading, installing, or using syntax, you agree to these terms. The app asks you to accept them before you can sign in or generate an image. If you do not agree, do not use syntax.

What syntax is

syntax is a writing keyboard for iPhone, shipped as a keyboard extension and a companion app. Without Full Access it types, offers letter alternates on a long press, repeats backspace when held, and reads text aloud on-device — all offline. With Full Access on, it can also generate an image from an @image"..." prompt, insert a contact with @contact, and keep a clipboard history that stays on your device. A prompt composer lets you choose a model, a shape, and a length before you generate.

Accounts

You do not need an account to use syntax. If you want higher generation limits than the anonymous default, you can sign in with your email address. We email you a one-time code through our sign-in provider, Supabase; there is no password. Anyone with access to your inbox can request a code, so keep your email private. Tell us at support@yoursyntax.app if you lose access to your email. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, or by emailing us.

Acceptable use

You may use syntax to write, compose, and generate images for your own work. You may not:

• use syntax to break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
• harass, impersonate, or misuse other people's data;
• submit prompts for disallowed content, or try to bypass the content filter;
• try to get around generation limits or quotas;
• probe, scan, disrupt, or overload the gateway, or intercept its traffic;
• copy, reverse engineer, or resell the service as your own.

Generated content and the content filter

Every @image prompt passes a content filter built into the app before any network request is made. If the filter cannot run, generation is blocked — the filter fails closed, never open. If your prompt is blocked you will see a single neutral message: "that prompt can't be generated." Edit the prompt and try again.

You are responsible for the prompts you write and for how you use the images you generate. Images are generated by AI models and may be imperfect or unexpected; check them before you rely on them or share them.

Reporting content or problems

If an image you generated breaks these rules, or anything in the app goes wrong, tell us at support@yoursyntax.app, or use the report page at yoursyntax.app/report. We read every report and respond within 30 days.

Purchases

syntax is free, and nothing is sold in the app today. If that ever changes, this page and the App Store listing will say so clearly before any charge exists.

Intellectual property

Your words stay yours. We claim no ownership of anything you type or write with syntax. Subject to these terms and the rights of the model providers, the images you generate are yours to use. syntax itself — the app, the keyboard, the name, and the mark — belongs to manymoats, and these terms do not give you any right to them except to use the app as intended.

Termination

You can stop using syntax at any time by deleting the app and removing the keyboard. We may limit, suspend, or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service. If we ever retire the service, we will post notice on this site.

Disclaimers

syntax is provided "as is." We do not promise it will always be available, always be error-free, or be fit for any particular purpose. Generated images are not professional advice of any kind. You use syntax at your own risk, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost goodwill, arising from your use of syntax. Because syntax is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which today is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will update this page and the date at the top. If you keep using syntax after an update, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of syntax is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Where your local consumer-protection law gives you rights that cannot be waived, those rights apply.
